How I'm Getting to $100M
You have to believe you can do it.
Building to Nine Figures
I’ve set my sights on reaching $100M in revenue. That’s the goal.
When you first walk into Wilson HQ, you see it on the wall: “$100M by 2030.”
It’s a big number, sure. But it’s not just about hitting the number—it’s about proving to myself and my team what’s possible when we push past the limits of comfort.
Some people chase small wins.
That’s cool.
I’m not going to yuck anyone’s yum and say if you aren’t in it to grow then you aren’t in it.
Want to hit that $3-5M mark and have some stability? Great. Live your life.
But we’re aiming higher, striving for long-term growth.
We’ve bootstrapped this business to where it is now, and we’ll continue growing organically—with some strategic acquisitions along the way.
Here’s a tip for anyone scaling: As the business grows, so must your vision. What got you to $2M won’t get you to $100M.
Ego-driven? Maybe. But the bigger the goal, the stronger the drive.
We're going to get to $50M organically. We'll probably buy a couple more companies.
We don't intend to raise.
I want to get to $100M bootstrapped. To say that I did it, frankly. It's pure ego.
There's nothing else to it other than I think I can. But that’s the challenge that keeps me moving.
Just remember: Top-tier talent is hard to come by. If you’re not constantly recruiting, you’re already behind. Hire to grow—always.
That’s part of why we’ve been using Sagan Passport to find the best overseas hires for our operation. We have specific needs where getting new talent is a necessity.
Not only are we getting amazing recruitment, but Sagan also offers a community of business leaders who share information.
And you know me: I’m all about peer groups.
However, overseas recruitment is just one piece of a larger hiring puzzle.
We’re learning it in real time this year as we start hiring those bigger positions and moving pieces into place.
Growth doesn’t come from comfort zones—step out and make your next hire.
I know I am.
Have a great weekend.
John
I am relentless.
Tuesday is my 8th anniversary of ownership.
This is a graph of monthly revenue over my career.
