Does Technology Help or Hurt Business?

The Revolution is already here.

The Days of Pen & Paper

Sup,

Remember taxis? I definitely don’t. I’m in my early 30s.

And there’s a reason for that: We’re 15 years or so removed from Uber fully disrupting that particular industry. I talked about this recently in a big ‘tech stack’ video.

Now? Seeing a taxi is like seeing a pay phone.

The world moves on, gets better, and finds new ways to do things.

Doing things a new way has been the motto of my company over the last eight years. In that time, we’ve grown from eight employees to 140, with no plans to slow down.

The reason? We’ve been willing to jump into that technological deep end and help disrupt our own industry.

How? Like our switch to Avoca AI and making our call center one where hybrid AI agents and our own CSRs work together to dominate.

On top of that, we never miss a single incoming call, and our CSRs are getting feedback on each call made.

Sounds great, right? Check out a demo of Avoca and get that for yourself.

But is technology always a good thing?

Depends.

Part of embracing tech is all about knowing why you’re adopting, and not just doing it to keep up.

So let’s talk today about how tech has disrupted an industry in the trades not exactly known for embracing change.

The revolution is here, but are you with it?

Let’s do it.

  • Smart early adoption drives success.

  • Technology is an investment, not an expense.

Reading time: 3 minutes and 30 seconds

A decade ago, the trades were a different ballgame.

When I started, most home service companies were small—seven to ten people tops.

Scaling beyond that was a logistical nightmare.

Imagine juggling schedules on whiteboards, stacks of paperwork, and phones ringing off the hook with no efficient way to manage it all.

Expanding meant more chaos, not more business.
